Woofers’ Basic Manners class is aimed at teaching your pup starting at 10 weeks, basic manners which will help your pup become a well- behaved member of your family. If you adopt an older dog from a rescue, your dog may not have had any prior training, and these classes will be ideal to help get your new family member off to a good start! Got a young dog going through the teenage “I can’t hear you” stage? These classes can help to re-establish the basic training that your pup was may have been taught previously and get him listening, and responding to you again. Training is instrumental in creating a bond with your puppy or your new rescue dog which helps to promote in your dog feelings of comfort and security. Training can also help to instill confidence into puppies and shy dogs! The classes cover: • Walking nicely on leash, • Down, • Wait • Stay, • Leave it, • Coming when called • Targeting (teaching “touch” – a very important basic behaviour which can be used for all sorts of purposes later on!) At your first class, you will receive a ring binder and at the end of each lesson, you’ll be given a detailed handout explaining what you have been working on in that class and a video link showing how to teach the exercise. At the end of the course, you will have a 40 plus page training manual that you can refer to when ever you need it! Your instructor will also be available to answer questions you might have on general issues such as puppy biting, jumping up, housetraining etc. The cost of the course includes access to your instructor via email or phone during the time you are working together, and for 4 weeks after the last class.
